A tour to the top of the Hull Minster tower, with one of our heritage guides, for an unparalleled vantage point across the East Yorkshire Wolds, the Humber Estuary, Holderness area and North to Beverley.

We are thrilled to be able to offer our tower tours, taking people up to the top of the Minster tower to get the unique view of the city and surrounding areas.

View to the west at sunset

Highlights include:

Climb 180 steps up the spiral staircase,

A panoramic view of Kingston-upon-Hull from the highest point in the city with public access,

A visit to the bell chamber where the bells are still rung,

A close up view of the clock mechanism in action

We usually go up at 2pm Weds-Sat. Allow 1.5hours.

We start with a brief history of the church and tower, take 83 steps up to the ringing chamber where you learn about our massive collection of bells. Then climb another 87 steps to the tower roof, where you learn a brief history of the surrounding area. If you buy your stamped postcard in our shop, you can now post it in Hull’s highest post box, which will be franked ‘posted from the top of Hull Minster tower’.  We then descend the steps to the clock room to see the workings of the clock strike 3pm.  We then have a chance to step out onto the flat roof of the Chancel, then back down.

All participants must be able to climb independently. There is no alternative access arrangements. Minimum age 8 years.

You can purchase a gift card below, to allow someone to experience the breath taking views from this amazing place.

Private tours can be arranged for 8 people or more. Email office@hullminster.org to enquire.

Occasionally we have to cancel tours due to adverse weather conditions. We will contact you, using your ticket booking details.
